Sanders embraces cherry, chocolate combination with three new items

Capturing customers' desire for real ingredients and natural flavors, Sanders Candy has introduced three new cherry items including Three Piece Milk Chocolate Cherry Almond Caramels, Dark Chocolate Cherry Granola Snack Bars and Milk Chocolate Cherry Almond Caramel Mini Bites.

Clinton Township, Mich., February 2, 2018 – Sanders announced today that it has three new cherry items available for national retail sale, and the items can be purchased in Sanders Chocolate & Ice Cream Shoppes or online at sanderscandy.com.

The new cherry items include Three Piece Milk Chocolate Cherry Almond Caramels, Dark Chocolate Cherry Granola Snack Bars and Milk Chocolate Cherry Almond Caramel Mini Bites.

“When developing new products, we are committed to only using the best ingredients so these new items are all made with real Michigan cherries,” said Brian Jefferson, Chairman and CEO of Sanders Candy. “The sweet-tart flavor of the cherries pairs perfectly with our chocolate to provide a truly unique tasting experience.”

The Milk Chocolate Cherry Almond Caramel 1.5oz package joins the Sanders Three-Piece Collection and has a suggested retail price of $1.50.


The 1.5oz Dark Chocolate Cherry Granola Snack Bar is the latest addition to Sanders’ gourmet candy bar line and has a suggested retail price of $1.99.


The Milk Chocolate Cherry Almond Caramel Mini Bites packages is available at the suggested retail price of $3.99. This 3.75-ounce package is resealable and can stand on its own.

Sanders announces major land purchase in Clinton Township

Clinton Township, Mich., December 27, 2017 – Sanders and Morley Candy Makers, Inc. announced today that the company recently acquired approximately five acres of property located directly next to its corporate headquarters and chocolate factory in Clinton Township, Michigan. .

“Metro Detroit is our home so we are committed to investing in the area and providing more job opportunities,” said Ron Rapson, President of Sanders and Morley Candy Makers. “With this land being so close to our existing property, we decided the best strategic decision was to make the purchase.”

The property provides Sanders with ample opportunity for much needed expansion as the company continues to experience rapid growth. The chocolate and baked goods manufacturer is still weighing its option on how it will use the land.

Sanders & Morley Candy Makers has been a long-standing member of the Metropolitan Detroit community with some of its current employees working with the company for more than forty years.

“This land can be used in a variety of ways to benefit our operations,” said Rapson. “Our team is working to make careful considerations on how to best use it taking into account both the current and future needs of our growing business.”

The property purchase comes after Sanders spent the last three years investing several million dollars back into its manufacturing and operations. The company completed an extensive remodel of its flagship Chocolate & Ice Cream Shoppe located inside its corporate headquarters in October 2017. Between 2014 and 2017, Sanders has also added three new production lines, gained a 50,000-square foot distribution center, employed a new cloud-based ERP system and launched a new website using the latest Magento 2 Platform technology.

“It’s an exciting time to be part of this iconic brand as we embark on our next 142 years,” Rapson said. “We look forward to taking on even more opportunities and further growing our team in the future.”

Sanders will celebrate the grand re-opening of its newly remodeled chocolate and ice cream shoppe in Clinton Township on Saturday, October 14th. The event kicks off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9am followed by family fun activities and special offers throughout the entire day.

Clinton Township, Mich., October 5, 2017 – Sanders will celebrate the grand re-opening of its newly remodeled chocolate and ice cream shoppe in Clinton Township on Saturday, October 14th. .

The grand re-opening will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9am and a special appearance by the Detroit Lions Mascot, Roary the Lion. Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, the store will hold a day-long celebration featuring giveaways, in-store special offers, free samples, free hot dogs and a variety of family friendly activities.

The renovations increased the previous store’s footprint by about 30-percent and expanded indoor seating from 10 people to 50, plus an additional 75 outdoor seats will be available during warmer months.

“We’ve put a lot of thought into loading the store with features to create memories that will last a lifetime,” said Brian Jefferson, Chairman and CEO of Sanders Candy. “We want visitors to feel compelled to stay for a while when they come to this store.”

“We are grateful for our growing sales and increased national recognition, but we know it wouldn’t be possible without our strong customer base continuing to share us with family and friends,” said Ron Rapson, President of Sanders and Morley Candy Makers. “This new store is just one more way to allow us to continue investing locally to give the Metro Detroit community even more positive memorable experiences.”

The newly remodeled shoppe will feature two waterfalls of real chocolate, a fully visible bakery where shoppers can see baked goods and dipped chocolates being prepared and it has impressive marble countertops paying homage to the classic fountain counters of Sanders shoppes in the early 1900’s.
