Original caramel cake August 27, 2014
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Wheaton, IL
Please bring back the original caramel cake. Just  last week, my husband was describing the chocolate bumpy cake and the caramel cake to our grown kids! He was born in MI  but had to move to OH when he was 10 yrs old. He loved it when his relatives from Michigan would come visit his family in Ohio...and bring enough Sander's cakes to fill the deep freezer chest in the basement. Our children are grown now but don't remember the cakes that they ate at their grandparents house when they were toddlers. We leave in IL now but my husband's aunt just posted a link about how Sander 's is taking the nostalgic approach to attracting customers , especially those that had to leave Michigan.
The caramel bumpy cake doesn't have the nostalgic feel . Those of us that had the Original Caramel cake would want the Original and only the Original. No bumps please !  It's takes away from the Bumpy Cake too . Let the Bumpy Cake be the Bumpy Cake!  The chocolate kind like I had when I was young !

This cake is a joke! September 16, 2013

This cake is a joke.  Want to sell cake? Then bring back the original caramel yellow cake and frosting and frost it with the original THICK layer of frosting.  People stopped buying it when you started topping it with one tablespoon of frosting and froze it.  What did sanders expect?  No one is going to find this mediocre cake an adequate rendition of the original.

Fan of the Original September 9, 2013

For those of you who long for Sanders original caramel cake try Holiday Markets plain caramel cake in Royal Oak. It does not have the bumpy cream layer but the flavor of the cake & icing tastes as good as Sanders old recipe. Their cakes are pricey though. They have two kinds of caramel cake. I only recommend the plain layer cake. Their other recipe is too rich for my taste.

I love this cake! It had the perfect balance of sweetness with a little spice. I never had the old recipe but this is a great cake and I'll definitely be coming back for more! Give this cake a try you'll be happily surprised!

Worst. Idea. Ever. August 17, 2013
Reviewer: caramel-a-holic from Waterford Mi
This cake is horrible. This cake is utter junk compared to the original Sanders Caramel cake. I couldn't even finish one piece. Please Please Please bring back the origianl yellow cake with caramel frosting. I'm glad my grandparents are dead so they never had to see or taste this inferior product. YUCK!!!!!
